Some of My Key Takeaways:

  • Put yourself in places where you have to earn respect!
  • Book: The Slight Edge
  • Book: Eat that Frog
  • Book: Personality Plus
  • Everyday you have a choice to do things or not do things. The things you’re choosing to do, are all small and easy tasks that no one will notice. However, if you’ll do them, they will have a compounding effect. The people that do them, they go up! The people they don’t, they go down!
  • Do what other people will not do now, so you can have what other people don’t have later!
  • Don’t care about the outcome, care about the people!
  • In the end it’s not about the money, and it never should be about the money.
  • How are you benchmarking your success? What goals are you setting? How many people are you helping? What are you doing to create credibility?
  • When you’re a leader. In the beginning, you’re going to do a lot our of a little
  • Will you sacrifice 3 years of your life to accomplish what you would like to accomplish?
  • When you’re comfortable, it’s time to challenge yourself! You need a little bit of chaos!
  • Main focus: Develop systems for success!
  • It all comes down to confidence in you our ability to lead people!

Our goal this year is to recruit 150 runners and raise over $100,000.

Registration will open Monday, September 22nd at 12:01 a.m.

If you are afraid of raising money, I can promise you that the fundraising is easier than you think! I raised over $14,000 last year simply by sending bi-weekly e-mails and updating social media. I will provide you with all of the resources you need to raise money.

Reflections on the 2014 Pittsburgh Marathon

photo 1 Reflections on the 2014 Pittsburgh Marathon

Yesterday, I ran my sixth marathon! It was another incredible experience. This one was extremely special to me because my wife ran it as well! This was her first marathon! I am so proud of her. We have spent the last 20 weeks training together for this moment. We trained in rain, snow, and freezing temperatures. It was insane. However, as with most marathons, when you cross the finish line, looking back, it was all worth it.

In this post, I’ll share some reflections and lessons learned from the Marathon as well as running for Light of Life Rescue Mission!

P90X3 Review

Six years ago, I started doing P90X and got into the best shape of my life. Ever since then, I have been absolutely hooked on Beachbody programs. I have done P90x, P90X2, Insanity, Body Beast, and now P90X3. I absolutely love it! When I saw that P90X3 was coming out, I was so fired up. The one thing I was concerned about was the 30 minute workouts! The other Beachbody programs I did were all 40-65 minute workouts. I was use to going hard for an hour and getting great results. Could I really get into great shape in 30 minutes? In researching the program, I found that Tony Horton had the same question. He did not want to do a 30-minute workout program. He wanted people to workout for 45-60 minutes per workout. Well, Beachbody did the research and science proves that the you can maximize the benefits you receive from working out in 30 minutes. Anything beyond that is extra and is great, but all you really need is 30 minutes. P90X3 was born.

What People Really Think of What You Want to Do

One of our biggest fears when it comes to going after the dreams in our heart is the fear of what people will think.

  • What if they think it’s stupid?
  • What if they think it’s impossible?
  • What if they tell me it can’t be done?
  • What if they think I am insane?
  • What if they never talk to me again?
  • What if they talk about me behind my back?

Body Beast Review

I recently finished my first run through of one of Beachbody’s newer programs: Body Beast. It was AWESOME! Beachbody always delivers. I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely for me! I love their workouts because:

  • I can do them at home
  • They don’t require a lot of equipment
  • They do all the thinking for you! You don’t need to develop a workout routine, they have world-class trainers who do it for you!
  • They come with a meal plan! I have learned so much about nutrition through these guides. They are priceless!
  • All you have to do is push play!
  • Their trainers are awesome! They inspire and challenge you!
  • Their programs are cheap and you can use them long after you’ve paid for them!
  • They produce results! Search YouTube for Beachbody results. You’ll see thousands and thousands of testimonies!
  • You become a part of a community that supports you. I have made a lot of friends through using Beachbody’s products and programs! They inspire me and challenge me to stay in the best shape of my life!

My goal isn’t to sell you on Beachbody or Body Beast, my goal is to help you get into the best shape of your life. After all, the best workout is the one you’ll do! If it’s Beachbody, great! If it’s Crossfit, great! If it’s ___, great! As long as you’re working our. If you’re interested in joining my community of friends committed to getting into the best shape of their life, join this Facebook page.

For those interested in Beachbody, I have reviewed a few other Beachbody Programs in the past. You can check out the review for those here:
