“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” –Jim Rohn
Yesterday, I focused on evaluating how you spent 2011. Today I want to focus on how you can make 2012 the best year you have ever lived!
If 2011 was Awesome – That’s great! 2011 was definitely the best year I’ve ever had! However, I’m a firm believer that there is no cap on how great life can get! Let’s believe that 2012 is going to be even better than 2011!
If 2011 was Horrible – Sometimes we have a bad year. That’s ok. The important thing is to recognize that it can turn around. God’s big. You may have had the worst year ever, but by this time next year, you could be in the best position you’ve ever found yourself in. Believe that 2012 is going to be the best year you’ve ever had!
How to Make 2012 Your Best Year Ever:
Plan It – Plan everything. Plan where you will go. Plan the people you will meet. The adventures you’ll pursue. Plan what you will accomplish.
Set Goals and Get Accountability for Them – Dream big! Set goals that will stretch you! Then find someone and go over your goals with them. Ask if you can have a monthly phone call to see how you’re doing with them.
Pray and Expect God to do Great Things – Pray about what you should be doing, who you should be meeting, where you should be going, etc. Expect God to lead you into some incredible things!
Choose to Have an Awesome Year – Ultimately, you choose whether or not you have a great year. John Wooden said, “There’s a choice you make in everything you do, so keep in mind, that in the end, the choice you make, makes you.” So… Choose to be optimistic. Choose to believe it will be the best year. Choose to dream. Choose to make a difference. Choose to live life on purpose. Choose to form good habits that will set you up for success. Choose to change. Choose to be disciplined.
I would also encourage you to read through the following posts, they will help you think about the goals you need to set in 2012 in light of your 2011:
