“The total number of philosophers who are significant in world history is approximately 135-500. A smaller number if we take only the major figures in each world civilization. Even if we add minor figures of all of the networks in all of civilization the total is about 2,700 people. In summary: Between 150-3,000 people, a tiny fraction of roughly the 23 billion people living between 600 BC and 1900 framed the major contours of all world civilizations.” -Jim Collins
Think about that. There were approximately 23 billion people living at one time on the planet and at most 3,000 people influenced the other 23 billion. So the question I have for you is, why not try to be one of the 3,000? We have the message we need, now we just need to build the influence. Here is what I know: If we’ll be faithful to God with the platform we have now, He will open doors for an even bigger platform.
There are 7 major areas of influence in our lives today:
5. ) Media
My prayer is that one day God would position me to influence leaders in all 7 of those areas for Him. It’s a big dream, but we serve a big God. My challenge to you is to use your influence in the areas you have influence in now. Whether in your family, in your classroom, in the media, the government, in business, in church, or in professional athletics…what are you doing with the influence you have right now? The average person will unintentionally influence 10,000 people in their lifetime. Think of how many you could influence if you used your influence intentionally.
The other day I posted a message I spoke, and my main point was that the world desperately needs you to become all that God created you to be. Now more than ever, we need men and women of God to stop up and lead in their personal lives, their families, their churches, their businesses, their cities, states, nation, and in the world.
Dream bigger. Be more intentional about your influence. Choose to be one person that will influence millions of others to live for God. Believe that it is possible to make a difference in the church world, the government, education, sports, media, family, and business world. It’s possible.
