The Architect of Your Growth

“My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For  the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” -Hebrews 12:6

During my interview with CCO President, Dan Dupee, he made a statement which I found to be profound. He said,  “God is the architect of your leadership profile.

He is absolutely right. The truth is we are not smart enough to figure out all of the ways we need to grow in order to become the man or woman of God that He needs us to become. That is why it is so important that we live for God and allow Him to be the architect of our growth.

When you allow God to be the architect of your growth:

You will discover gifts you never knew you had – Regardless of how many personality and strength-based tests you have taken, you still do not know everything that you are good at. God wants to develop gifts in you that are lying dormant. You will never discover those gifts outside of a relationship with God.

You will become a healthy leader – As leaders, we can either help or hurt people with our influence. The healthier we are, the more we’ll help those we lead. God knows the areas that you need to grow through and the areas that you need to be healed from in order to become a healthy leader. If you will be humble yourself and learn what God wants you to learn in every season of your life, you will become a healthy leader and be in a position to help a lot of people.

You will meet people and have experiences that will change your life forever – God uses people and experiences to grow us. When you follow Him, He will connect you with people who He needs you to connect with and open doors for the experiences He needs you to have in order to become who He created you to be. With God, you never know who you will get the opportunity to meet or the experiences He’ll enable you to have. He can bring you before people you never dreamed of spending time with. He can open doors to experiences you never dreamed of having! Trust Him!

In his book, “How People Grow“, Henry Cloud said, “All growth is spiritual growth.” I agree. If you do not have a relationship with God, you are leaving your potential in your own hands.

Yes, you may be able to do something with your potential without God, but you’ll never become everything God intended you to be.

Let God be the architect of your growth.
