“Develop the attributes God says to develop. They are the attributes people are attracted to.” -Tony Quatrini
Last August, I was interviewing the Director of Marketing for the Steelers, Tony Quatrini, for my Learning to Lead podcast. You can listen to that interview here.
In the interview, I asked him what advice he would give to young leaders. He responded, “Develop the attributes God says to develop. They are the attributes people are attracted to.”
That statement was a game changer for me. I realized that the more I become like God, the greater my ability to impact the world for Him will be.
In Mark 12:37 it says that “the common people heard him (Jesus) gladly.”
- Do people hear you gladly?
- Are people attracted to you because they see God in you?
- Are you purposefully becoming more like Him?
- Are you developing the character traits He said to develop?
Here is what I know: You will only make a lasting impact on our world to the extent that you’re like Him. If you want to become a better person, a better spouse, a better parent, a better worker, a better student, a better son or daughter, you have to become more like Him.
Get in the Bible, see what He said to develop. Get in a church, learn about who He said to become. Be intentional about becoming the man or woman of God that He said to become.
Develop the attributes that God says to develop. You’ll make the world a better place. You’ll make an eternal impact.
