I was having breakfast with a mentor last month, we were talking about my future. He said, “I don’t know what God has called you to do, but whatever it is, it’s bigger than you think.”
That encouraged me. In fact, it rekindled my fire. In life, we can get so fixated on figuring out where we are going and what we’re supposed to be doing that we forget that God has an amazing plan for our lives! We forget that our job is to simply put God first, and He’ll take care of the rest!

The future God has for you, is bigger than you think it is! You might not be able to see the how it’s all going to work out, but God does. Trust Him. Recently I was in a time of prayer and I said, “God, what’s next for me? I have no idea and that kind of scares me.” He spoke to my heart, “Son, I know what’s next, and that’s all you need to know. Trust me. I love you and when you need to know, I’ll tell you!”
When you know God loves you and has a future planned out for you, life becomes a lot easier and a lot more exciting! Learning to trust God is the key.
Mark Batterson said, “Think of your life as a game of chess. You are the pawn and God is the Grand Master. You have no idea what your next move should be, but God already has the next 200 million moves planned out. Some of His moves won’t make sense, but that is simply because we can’t compute 200 million contingencies at a time! We’ve just got to trust the Grand Master.”
So, my encouragement for you today, this week, this month, this year, and for your entire life is this:
I don’t know what God has called you to do, but whatever it is, it’s bigger than you think! Trust Him!
