Don't Bury Your Gifts!

“The servant given one thousand said, ‘Master, I know you have high standards and hate careless ways, that you demand the best and make no allowances for error. I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’ “The master was furious. ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest. -Matthew 25:24-27

God has given you gifts and He expects you to do something great with them! In fact, your gift is what God wants to use to change the world through you! By now you should have discovered that you have a gift, that you can discover your gift, and that you can develop your gift. Today I want to focus on not burying your gift.

Too many people don’t do anything with the gifts that God has given them! The most common reasons people don’t do anything with their gifts are:

Fear of Looking Stupid, Being Rejected, and Not Producing Any Results – Everyone feels like this at first, we must learn to overcome it!

They’ve Been Told They Don’t Have any Gifts – Critics don’t count. If you know God has given you a gift, don’t let anyone stop you from developing it!

They Didn’t Know They had a Gift or Never had a Chance to Develop their Gift  – We talked about this in the other posts!

God HAS given you a gift. The question is what are you going to do with it? Are you going to let fear hold you back from developing what God has put inside you? God wants to use you and use the gifts He has put in you to change the world around you. That will never happen if you’re not willing to risk looking stupid, risk messing up, or risk putting yourself out there.

I hope that you’ve realized you have a gift! I hope you’re on your way to discovering what they are! I hope you’re starting to develop them! Whatever you don’t, don’t bury your gift by doing nothing to develop it! God loved you enough to give you life and everything you would need to be successful and make your dent in the universe! Don’t waste God’s investment!
