Out of the Dung Heap

God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God,
so majestically enthroned, surveying his magnificent heavens and earth? He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the wretched who’ve been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guests, a place of honor among the brightest and best. He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. ~Psalm 113:5-9

This is one of my favorite scriptures. It’s a perfect picture of God will do in the life of someone who walks with Him and lives for Him.

God specializes in taking people from the least to the greatest, from the dumbest to the smartest, from the poorest to the richest, from the slowest to the fastest, and from the sickest to the healthiest.

I’ve seen it over and over again in my life, and in the lives of many others. Anytime I take time to think about how far God has brought me in the last ten years, I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.

I’ve not only seen this in my life, but in the lives of others, which also overwhelms me! There is nothing greater than seeing God turn around a life.

I’m convinced that God gets overwhelmed with joy when He blesses His people. He loves when we find ourselves in situations where the only thing we can say is, “Only God could have made this happen! Only God could have brought me here. Only God could have connected me with these people…”

In these situations, God gets all the credit and all of the glory, because not only will we know that it was only possible because of Him, but so will everyone around us.

Believe God to elevate your life today, regardless of where you find yourself. You might feel like you’ve been thrown out with the trash as the verse above implies, but God doesn’t want you to stay there! Believe God to do something great in your life. God is looking for people who will walk with Him and live for Him. If you’ll do those two things everyday, He will take you on a journey you can’t even dream of.

From the least to the greatest. From being thrown out with the trash to being seated amount the brightest and best.
