No Excuses!

“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” —

If you know me, you know that I am very passionate about health and fitness. As a result, I started a Facebook group for people to encourage each other and hold each other accountable for their health and fitness goals. I’d love to have you join the group if you’re interested. Join here.

The other day, I had a friend make this comment in the group:

“My landlord has asked me to give up Insanity (an intense DVD workout system) halfway through. So instead of stewing, I’ve been going into work early and working out. I’ve decided I need to move. Don’t let circumstances (outside of death and injury) stop you. Adversity only makes you stronger and makes for some great stories… Like the time I left my apartment because my landlord was holding me back from being a better me!

When I read that, I got so fired up it wasn’t even funny! I was so proud of my friend. Instead of getting frustrated and giving up, he decided that he wasn’t going to let anything hold him back from becoming the best that he is capable of becoming.

If you are going to be successful in life, that is a choice you and I will have to make over and over and over again.

We all have a million reasons to quit. We all have unfair circumstances in our lives. The question is, what are you going to do about it? Quit or keep going? Give up or press through? Fail or succeed?

  • If you have people in your life that are holding you back, get around people who cause you to soar!
  • If you need to go back to school, learn a new skill, or learn new disciplines to start living the life you want, then do it!
  • If “things have always been this way” in your life, recognize that they don’t have to be! You can start making changes and start living an entirely differently life than the one you’re currently living.

Don’t let anything hold you back from becoming a better you.

Thoughts?

What excuses have you been making lately that are holding you back?

What circumstances are holding you back? What can you do about them?
