My Fitness Pal

Helping people get into the best shape of their life has become a passion of mine over the past year. I’ve had a ton of people ask me how they can get into the best shape of their life. The first thing I always tell them is to start tracking their calories. Until I started tracking calories, I had no idea how much food I was actually consuming. I thought I ate healthy, but the reality was, I was eating 4,000-5,000 calories a day! Yikes! I started tracking what I ate and everything changed.

I have tried several applications for tracking calories, and I finally found one I absolutely love and recommend to everyone: MyFitnessPal.

Why My Fitness Pal is Awesome:

Its’ Free – You can use it online on their website or download their app for the iPhone or Droid.

It’s a Social Network! – That’s right. You can friend request people, comment on their status updates, view each others food diary’s, encourage each other, and hold each other accountable. I love that you can see what other people are eating daily.

It’s Easy to Use – You can scan any item and it will automatically generate it’s nutritional facts. You can also search for the food you’re looking for. It saves the food you’ve entered, so it’s easy to re-enter the foods you eat on a daily basis.

You Can Set Goals and Track Your Progress – Set goals for how much weight you want to lose, how much you want to eat daily, etc. It will track your progress for you!

If you’re looking to get into better shape, nutrition is going to be 70% of the battle. I encourage you to get on MyFitnessPal. If you do get on, send me a friend request, I’d love to help encourage you and keep you accountable.

  1. I love using myfitnesspal.  Sometimes I don’t realize how many calories I actually intake so this helps me keep an eye on that.
