Notes:

Becoming All God Created You To Be

At that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. – Acts 7:20

“If you want a better world, composed of better nations, inhabited by better states, filled with better counties, made up of better cities, compromised of better neighborhoods, illuminated by better churches, populated by better families, then you’ll have to start by becoming a better person.” -Tony Evans

This is an inscription on the tomb of an Anglican Bishop in Westminster Abbey:

“When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser I discovered the world would not change –So I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country, but it too seemed immovable. As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it. And now I realize as I lie on my deathbed, if I had only changed myself first, then by example I might have changed my family. From their inspiration and encouragement I would then have been able to better my country, And who knows, I might have even changed the world.”

Main Point: The world needs you to be who called created you to be and to do what God created you to do!

I.) Who You Think You Are Doesn’t Matter

Who do you think you are? To be honest, it doesn’t matter who you think you are. Your job isn’t to figure out who you are and what you’re supposed to do. Your job is to discover who God made you to be and what He’s called you to do!

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10

Who you think you are doesn’t matter. In your pursuit of God you will discover who He created you to be and what he created you to do.

II.) You Have to Trust God WITH Your Life

Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in ALL you do and He will show you which path to take. -Proverbs 3:5-6

“Friends love you the way you are, real friends love you enough to not let you stay where you are!”

Who you are in 5 years will be determined by the books you read and the people you’re around!

Matthew 6:33 – Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL these things will be added unto you!

As you obey God, your confidence in God increases, and as a result you will be confident, not in yourself, but in the God who loves and directs you. Obeying God is ALWAYS WORTH IT!

III.) You have to Recognize that God Wants You to Be Great

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the ability to do the same.”

At the Last supper! Luke 22:24-26 – 24 Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them. 25 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ 26 But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.

>Jesus didn’t say, “don’t try to be great”. He just redefined what greatness is.

Greatness is laying down your life to advance God’s Kingdom!

“The purpose of your life is to let God use your life for His purposes!” -Ben Rath

Christians should be the most influential people on the planet!

“And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” -Acts 1:8

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him. II Chronicles 16:9

God is looking for world changers and people that believe that with God NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE!

IV. When You’re a World Changer, You Enable Other People to Be World Changers

I Corinthians 11:1 – Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. – Paul

“We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the ability to do the same.”

“If you want a better world, composed of better nations, inhabited by better states, filled with better counties, made up of better cities, compromised of better neighborhoods, illuminated by better churches, populated by better families, then you’ll have to start by becoming a better person.” -Tony Evans

When you become a better person, you’ll create a better family, that will help create better churches, neighborhoods, cities, counties, states, nations, and a better world.

Main Point: The world needs you to be who called created you to be and to do what God created you to do!
