5Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. -Revelation 2:5
I was reading Primal, when I read this verse, and I had to pause and repent. I was reminded through the book that we need to get back to the place where loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength is ALL that matters.
I started looking at my walk with God and recognized that I’m not where I should be. God brought me back a few years to the place in my life where all that mattered was pursuing Him, not advancing in ministry, not building my reputation, not worrying about what anyone thought of me, but just Knowing Him.
I had to repent of getting so off track and focused on myself and building my kingdom, when all that really matters is Him.
My prayer is that we’ll all go back and as Jesus said, “Do the Works we did at first.”
God really is all that matters. I’m going back…Are You?
