Opportunities (Part 2)

What He opens, no one can close; and what He closes, no one can open. I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. -Revelation 3:7-8

What Opportunities are right in front of You?

I think one of the biggest obstacles people face when it comes to going after their dreams is that they fail to take advantage of the opportunities that are right in front of them. Some people will read the verse above and think that God’s going to open every door for them, carry them through, and one day they’ll end up being Joel Osteen, President of the United States, or CEO of a Fortune 500 Company. That is NEVER the case. I promise you that everybody that you look up to in life got to where they are today as a result of taking advantages of all the small opportunities that came their way over the years.

I’ve found this – that people who never take advantage of the opportunities right in front of them, never have bigger or better opportunities come across their path.

Some of you are wondering why opportunities aren’t coming your way. Why doors aren’t opening up. Why you’re not making any progress. My question to you is: Are you being faithful with the opportunities in front of you?

Maybe you’re thinking “There are no opportunities in front of me.” WRONG! What that thought really means is that you don’t believe there are no opportunities in front of you that you think are worth your time.

Depending on where you are in life it make take some humility to put your hand to the opportunities in front of you. Maybe it’s a minimum wage job, setting up and tearing down, maybe serving in a ministry (you should always be doing this), serving your boss, or taking on an extra project at work. Whatever it is, no matter how small, take advantage of opportunities like these and do them with excellence, and watch as God brings bigger and better opportunities your way.

Remember Matthew 25:23 – “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Are you taking advantage of the opportunities in front of you?
