Romantic Notions (Part 2) – Don't Quit

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. -Hebrews 10:35,36

There are definitely benefits to having romantic notions. Romantic notions usually spur out of a vision God has put in our hearts. Romantic notions enable us to dream of what it could be like. They give us a purpose to pursue.

Yesterday I talked about how romantic notions can bring about disappointment, which is true. But to be honest, the disappointment of romantic notions do not have to consume you, instead, they can actually motivate you.

Romantic notions can become reality, if you’ll decide in your heart early on that you’ll never quit.

God wants you to experience your romantic notions and then some! He really does want to do immeasurably more than you could ever dare to ask, think, hope, or imagine in your job, relationships, finances, etc., but before He does that, He needs to make sure you’re going to commit to what He’s put in your, no matter what.

There are going to be a lot of things about your job, your relationships, your physical condition, your finances, etc. that will leave you with plenty of opportunities to think “This is never going to work out, this is pointless, this isn’t what I thought it’d be, this isn’t worth it anymore…I quit.”

Don’t do it. God’s Word says that if you don’t throw away your confidence, if you persevere regardless of the circumstances, then you’ll do the will of God, and receive what He has promised.

Don’t allow a little disappointment hold you back from the awesome things God has for you. Hold onto your romantic notions, realize there will be times where you have to push through some disappointment, but I promise you, if you do, God will bring you to places you’ve never dreamed of, and it will be even better than you thought.
