As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. -I Samuel 17:48
In our walks with God and in life, there are always going to be battles to fight. Instead of avoiding and running from our battles, we need to run into battle. We need to face the giants that are in front of us right now.
I remember when I first started going after God the biggest battles I had to face were quitting drinking and drugs. I remember when I finally won the battle over both of those, I thought I was invincible. I thought I would never have another battle to fight. I was wrong!
After winning the war against drinking and drugs, I had to face the war of pornography, after winning that war came a war against loneliness and depression, after that it was fighting pride & insecurity after that it was . . .well, there is always a new battle to fight.
The sooner we run into battle and fight the giants that are holding us back from God’s best in our life, the better off we will be.
The more victories we have under out belts, the more confident we will become that with God, we can win any battle. With every victory, we become stronger. With every victory we become better equipped to do God’s will for our lives.
Every time you win a battle with God, it prepares you for your next battle.
Running from the giants in our lives won’t save us from having to eventually engage in battle with them. Whatever the giant is in your life right now, realize that whether you want to or not, eventually you’re going to have to go into battle.
So why not be like David? Why not run into battle? Why not get it over with?
David ran into battle because He knew God was with Him and he knew if God is with him, there was no battle he could not win.
God is with you. There is no battle you can not win.
Run into battle. Slay your giants.
