The Best Time to Invest

You have to put in many, many tiny efforts that nobody sees or appreciates before you achieve anything worthwhile. – Brian Tracy

The best time to invest in something is when you don’t think you need to be investing in it. Too often we wait until we HAVE TO invest in something. We wait to invest in our marriages until they are in danger. We wait to invest in our relationship with God until an emergency comes into our lives and we’re forced to seek Him. We wait to invest in ourselves until an opportunity arises and it’s too late to go back and invest in the growth required to make the most of the opportunity before us.  We wait to exercise and eat right until we’re forced to make our health a priority. We wait to spend our money wisely, until we’re forced to.

Here is what I know:

The best time to invest in your marriage and your family  is every day.

The best time to invest in your career is everyday.

The best time to invest you personal growth is every day.

The best time to invest in your spiritual life is every day.

The best time to invest in your character is every day.

The best time to invest in your effort toward your goals is every day.

The best time to invest in your health is everyday.

The best time to invest in your team is every day.

The best time to invest your finances is every day.

Stop waiting to invest in something until you are forced to. Learn to make daily investments that result in long-term success. Why? Because as John Wooden once said, “When opportunity comes, it’s too late to prepare.”

A while back, I wrote a post on what John Maxwell calls, “The Rule of 5”. I’d encourage you to read it, then determine 3-5 small investments you can make everyday toward your marriage, career, personal growth, your goals, etc.

What investments are you making on a daily basis in every area of your life to ensure long-term success?
