God’s Plan for Victory: Joshua 6:1-5
2 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.
Finding Confidence in Christ:
Joshua was confident because he trusted God’s promises!
Joshua 1:13 – God has given you this land
Joshua 1:15 – Possess the land the Lord your God is giving you
Joshua 2:9 – I know the Lord has given you this land
Joshua 2:24 – The Lord has given us the whole land
Joshua 6:2 – The Lord said to Jericho – I have given you Jericho, it’s king, and all it’s strong warriors.
The Only Thing You Need to KNow for the Rest of Your Life: God is with you!
Matthew 28:18-20 – . 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Because You Are With Me, I will not Fear – Psalm 118:6
God was with Abraham when he left everything he Knew
God was with Moses when he led the Israelites out of Egypt
God was with Joshua when they entered the promised land
God was with David when he fought Goliath
God was with Daniel in the lions den
God was with Jesus in the garden of ghetsemeny
God was with the disciples when Jesus left
God was with Paul in prison
God is with You When What’s In Front of You is Impossible
God is with You When You Don’t Even Know Him
God is with you when Life Falls Apart
God is with you when Nobody Else Is
God is with You When You Want to Quit
God is with You When You are Scared
God is with You in Your Greatest Moments
God is with You in Your Insecurity
God is with you When You need to make a Tough Decision
Romans 8:38-39 – 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Outcome of Living a Victorious Life in Christ
Joshua 6:27 – So the Lord was WITH Joshua and his reputation spread throughout the land.
2 Chronicles 16:9 – The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
Acts 10:34 – 34 Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
What God did for me, He’ll do for you! He uses people that trust and obey Him!
Trust and obey Him with your friendships
Trust and obey Him when your life falls apart.
Trust and obey Him when there is a battle in your mind
Trust and obey God to ALWAYS give you the victory!
