A Right Way and a Wrong Way

This morning in my quiet time, I was reading Psalm 119. It is the longest chapter in the Bible, but it is one of the best. The whole chapter is focused on the importance and value of God’s commandments.

Two of the scriptures the stuck out at me were:

“Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.” Psalm 119:104

“Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.” Psalm 119:140

Two thoughts stick out from reading these verses:

1.) There is a Right Way and a Wrong Way to Live Your Life

When the psalmist said, “No wonder I hate every false way of life…” I know exactly how he feels. Once you start living for God, you realize very quickly that there is a right way to live and a wrong way to live. They both produce totally different outcomes. The Bible says living the right way (living for God) produces life. It also says that living the wrong way produces death.

I don’t know about you, but I want to live the best life I can live while I’m here. I want to become everything that God created me to become and do everything He created me to do. The only way for me to do that is to follow God’s way to live!

God knows the best way for you to live your life and He has given us a book to use as a manual on how to do it. God has provided everything we need to live right. The question is: Do you want to?

2.) God’s Way to Live has Been Thoroughly Tested

The psalmist said, “Your promises have been thoroughly tested, that is why I love them so much.”

I could not agree more. I have lived part of my life not living for God and I have lived part of my life living fully for God and I can tell you without hesitation there is no comparison. The principles in the Bible on how to live have been tested and tried over centuries by billions of people. They work. They are the principles for building a great life. That is why I, along with billions of other people on the planet love them so much!

Ultimately, you have a choice. You can choose your own way of living or God’s way. I promise you God’s way is better. I promise you that God is smarter than you. If you chose your own way, I can tell you from experience that you have no idea what you are missing out on. Life doesn’t get any better than living for God.

There is a right way to live and a wrong way to live. Which way will you choose?
